Cleaning Sprays Using Essential Oils

It's that time of year again, to get your spring cleaning done. Sigh! I am not much for spring cleaning, but I know so many people clean their house top to bottom to bring welcome in the spring. I wish I was that motivated. 

Here's a few recipes from Essential Living from Aromahead, to help you get started on your spring cleaning journey! Or If you're like me, a few new recipes to spice up your normal cleaning routine.



Disinfecting Surface Cleaner
Ingredients:
15 oz water
1 oz white vinegar
20 drops Eucalyptus globulus essential oil
30 drops White Pine essential oil
30 drops Lemon essential oil
What to do: 
Just adds the essential oils to the water/vinegar mix in a 16 oz plastic spray bottle. 
Always spot test this to make sure it doesn't stain or harm your surfaces. 

Antifungal Cleaning Spray
Ingredients:
15 oz water
1 T white vinegar
40 drops Tea Tree essential oil
30 drops Geranium essential oil
40 drops Palmarosa essential oil (can substitute lemon essential oil)
What to do: 
Fill 16 oz plastic spray bottle with 15 oz water. Add the vinegar and essential oils. Shake before each use. 
Spray your shower curtain and damp areas in the bath and shower liberally to prevent mold and mildew. Do not spray on skin. 
Can also use this to prevent mold on patio furniture and screened porches.

Window Cleaner
Ingredients:
14 oz water
2 T white vinegar
2 T Lavender hydrosol
50 drops Lavender essential oil
What to do: 
Mix ingredients in a 16 oz spray bottle, adding oils last. 
Shake before using. Clean windows using paper towels, cloth or newspaper. It can also be used on any hard surface, like counter tops in kitchens and bathrooms.
