Time for Travel

Summer is the time for travel! Travelling is FUN! In the summer months, it seems as if everyone has plans for an adventure. Despite our best efforts, some minor problems can arise with traveling - jet lag, bed bugs, and germs, to name a few. Listed below are a few potions that are easy to whip up and take with you to help your trip be even better - with less yuck.

Air travel - Don't forget to review the TSA guidelines for liquids in carry-ons, I always forget. {Click here} to view them.

Vintage Amanda's Jet Setting Facial Mist
{Click here} to read her tips and see the original recipe.
What you'll need:
Rosewater (or distilled water)
Essential Oils (lavender, geranium, rosemary or your favorite)
Spray bottle (3.4 oz or smaller)
What to do:
In your spray bottle, pour in approximately 2 oz of rosewater. Add to this 10 drops of EOs - Amanda uses 5 drops lavender, 3 drops rosemary and 2 drops geranium.
To use:
Spray on your face or it front of you on the airplane - just don't spray your fellow passengers faces, unless they ask!

Disinfecting Spray
I took this with us on our holiday travels last December. I sprayed the toilet, sink and door handles in our hotels.
What you'll need:
Distilled water (or tap - which is what I use)
essential oil protective blend
Spray bottle (3.4 oz or smaller)
What to do:
In your spray bottle, fill with water. Add to this 5 drops of your EO blend. Don't forget to label it.
To use:
Shake before each use to incorporate the oils with the water. Spray surfaces to kill germs.

Bed-Bugs Spray
As an added bonus, this will help you sleep and relax you after your busy day.
What you'll need:
Distilled water
Lavender essential oil
Spray bottle (3.4 oz or smaller)
What to do:
In your spray bottle, fill with water. Add to this 5 drops of EOs.
To use:
Pull back all the covers, spray the bedding - all layers - starting at the corners and working in.

Where are you headed this summer? If I were going somewhere (I'm not), I would want to go to the beach.
