Relaxation

There are days where we could all use a little help relaxing. The grind of life, work, and multiple commitments can catch up with us in no time. Finding a few minutes to unwind and relax can be tough. Whatever the case, it seems as though taking time for ourselves gets put on the back burner. The reality is our needs to be a priority! It is high time we all learn to take pause and...R E L A X! 



With Tax Day coming right up, some of us may be up against a time crunch for submission. This is the perfect opportunity to stop and take a little time to slow down. This year schedule in some extra and much needed relaxation!

Where should you start? Great questions and that is where our essential oils,come in! Just like you, I collect essential oil blends and recipes. I scrapbook them in my Smashbooks and refer to them often. To help us all relax a little bit more, I pulled out my books to see what I could find. 




Blends to calm and help you relax: 
  • Relaxing blend: 3 drops roman chamomile, 6 drops rosewood, 2 drops ylang ylang in 1 oz carrier oil. This is good for at bed time, rub on wrists, sides of the neck or the chest. (Source: Aromahead
  • Relaxing Living Room Synergistic Blend: 8 drops geranium, 3 drops clary sage, 5 drops lemon, 3 drops bergamot (source: Valerie Ann Worwood)
  • Calming: 2 drops bergamot, 3 drops lavender, 2 drops sandalwood (source: Rashelle Johnson)
  • Burnout Relaxation Synergistic Blend: 8 drops sandalwood, 5 drops palmarosa, 9 drops lemon (source: Valerie Ann Worwood)
  • Stress Relief Body Spray: 4 oz water, 6 drops ylang ylang, 4 drops neroli. Avoid spraying face. Use on sheets and pillows before bed. (Source: Aromahead)
How to use these blends: 
Unless otherwise stated, You can then diffuse them or make a room spray (4 drops per cup of water), mix them up in the proportions above. Also consider making a perfume - roll on or solid - so you can wear your relaxation all day. Another great idea would be to make an inhaler to carry with you (read about those HERE). I also use these "flower power diffusers" to help my dog relax or to attach to just about anything.
